If everything goes according to plan tomorrow, I will have a brand new weapon going into Dragon Soul. It’s a piece of hardware I’ve been wanting… no, needing for a very long time. Sadly it’s not Dragonwrath, or that heroic dagger from Madness of Deathwing, but it’s still a vitally important upgrade none the less.

I’m talking about a new computer. After weeks of spec’ing things out, I’ve finally settled on getting a HP laptop. It’s sporting a Core i7 processor with 8GB of DDR3 ram and a 750GB hard drive. It also features an AMD Radeon video (1 GB dedicated card, can also switch to on-board system ram as needed), bluetooth, wireless, the works. All of it for a very reasonable price. The full specs of the system can be found right here.

With this new lappy (I haven’t named her yet), it’s going to mean not only a more enjoyable gaming experience, but also I’ll have the chance to kick off some of the big features I have planned for the website. There’s simply some things you can’t do on a 5 year old single core processor with a dying hard drive. Things like live streaming, video editing, graphics, and much more. Not to mention finally being able to play all the modern games I haven’t been able to touch. Above all though, it’s going to make playing WoW so much easier, especially when I’m not getting getting single digit frame rates in 25-man runs.
